Korazim
is at the gateway to the northern Galilee. Within a 25 km radius
are fascinating archeological excavations, beautiful nature reserves,
ancient Christian and Jewish holy sites, a variety of sporting facilities
-- including swimming, boating, rafting, horseback riding -- and
artists, artisans and restaurants to suit a variety of tastes.
Stretching
to the northeast are the Golan Heights, crowned by majestic snow-capped
Mt. Hermon. Northwest lies the town of Safed, with its artists and
mystics. Directly north is the century-old village of Rosh Pina
, and beyond it the Hula Valley nature reserve, stopping off point
for countless migrating birds making their way between Europe and
Africa.
Just
to the south lies the Mount of Beatitudes and below it the Sea of
Galilee, its beaches and boats, and the ancient town of Tiberias
with its hot springs.
Transportation
Korazim
is a two-and-a-half hour drive from either Jerusalem, via Jericho
and the Jordan valley, or from Tel Aviv by coastal or inland routes.
Haifa and Nazareth are about an hour away.
